Spice In The City Dallas plans to expand into larger Downtown Dallas location after opening just over one year ago.
Downtown Dallas’ healthy Indian fusion restaurant is expanding from a casual to-go concept to a full-fledged restaurant, complete with rooftop poolside patio and posh bar & lounge.
June 8, 2016 – DALLAS, TX
It's been over one year since Spice In The City Dallas, a healthier spin on Indian and Pakistani fusion, opened its doors in the heart of Downtown Dallas. The Desi hotspot which gained rapid popularity with hungry office-goers and foodies alike, has laid plans to grow even larger in the next few months. Spice In The City Dallas will expand its current to-go window concept with casual dining to soon offering customers a full-service dining experience complete with a posh bar, upscale dining room and a rooftop patio that overlooks the pool deck at the historic Dallas Power & Light Flats building - a hidden oasis sure to delight customers!
With an expanded menu that launched this February and extended hours that now include breakfast service and weekend dinner, Spice In The City Dallas has grown into a well-established hangout in the Dallas food scene. Owner and Registered Dietitian, Chef Navin Hariprasad continues to prepare healthier takes on his traditional Indian recipes and unique fusion dishes, by using organic meats, fresh spices and more appropriate portion sizes. As a dietitian at Parkland Hospital for two years, Hariprasad saw firsthand consequences of a poor diet. “When we started this healthier concept, our hope was to change the way people think about eating out,” says Hariprasad. “At Spice In The City Dallas, our customers know that they can enjoy the bold flavors, created with fresh ingredients and spices, without the guilt of oversized portions.”
Hariprasad also notes that because Downtown Dallas employees are often looking for a fast option during their lunch break, he will continue to have the window open for walk-up to-go orders or quick casual dining downstairs (which makes up the entire restaurant as of now).
Spice In The City Dallas is regularly featured on several of the popular food delivery apps (like Yelp’s Eat24, GrubHub, Favor, EatStreet, Caviar and DoorDash) and has been hand-selected by UberEats and Amazon’s new food delivery service, to be a featured restaurant, based on its popularity and high consumer ratings on area review websites.
With the expansion slated for early July 2016, Spice In The City Dallas will take over the available restaurant space directly above its to-go window. Customers can expect a unique dining area offering a larger menu with rotating, seasonal specialties created by Chef Hariprasad, and a lush patio with an urban vibe atop the rooftop pool deck at the DP&L Flats building - and coming in Mid-August they will open their full bar with specialty cocktails, beer and wine.
Spice In The City Dallas will continue to offer meal plans and catering to customers who want to try Hariprasad’s non-Indian fare. Each custom-fit meal plan offers a variety of cuisines so clients can maintain diversity in their diets.
“I want people to discover new ways to enjoy food that is good for them while still enjoying some foods in moderation,” says Hariprasad. “This is my version of a public health initiative, and the reason behind becoming a Registered Dietitian and opening Spice In The City Dallas”
Spice In The City Dallas offers healthy eating choices featuring bold flavors and organic meats, prepared fresh, daily. Now open weekdays for breakfast (7am-10:30am), lunch (11am-2pm) and dinner (5-9pm) with weekend dinner hours, too (5-9pm). Appetizers and entrees range from $1.50 to $14.99.
